Tuck That Tummy

couple smilingAn unfortunate but true fact is that no amount of sit-ups or dieting will give you a washboard stomach. Due to aging, heredity, pregnancy or weight fluctuations, anyone can develop a protrusion or sagging of the abdomen. The Board Certified Plastic Surgeons at Hedden Plastic Surgery are experienced in helping patients achieve a stomach that is as flat and attractive as possible with a cosmetic surgery procedure known as Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck.

The best results with a tummy tuck are seen with patients who have an abdomen that is out of proportion to the rest of the body because of excess skin and fat. Tummy tuck is intended to be a body contouring procedure rather than a way to lose weight. A tummy tuck can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures to restore a more toned, youthful appearance.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Tummy Tucks at the Birmingham-Hoover, Alabama offices of Hedden Plastic Surgery are performed in our accredited Outpatient Surgery Center. During the surgery, the excess tissue is removed and the underlying abdominal muscles are tightened. Most patients are asked to wear a compression garment for a couple of weeks after surgery to minimize swelling and help the skin adhere to the new contour of the abdomen. Our office will give you complete instructions for taking care of yourself during the recovery process.

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is performed to give the abdomen a flatter, firmer contour that is more proportionate to your body height and weight. If you would like to schedule a consultation for a tummy tuck with board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. William J. Hedden or Dr. Christopher J.
