Laser Tattoo Removal is performed by Spa Greystone’s experienced laser technicians using today’s most advanced FDA-approved laser technology. The laser light delivers energy into the skin which is absorbed by the tattoo ink without harming the surrounding skin. The ink is broken into tiny particles that are gradually carried away by the body’s natural cleansing process.
Laser tattoo removal works best on black and other dark colors because they absorb more of the laser energy. However, lighter-colored tattoos can also be removed or significantly lightened with modern medical lasers.
Because tattoos are intended to last a lifetime, multiple laser sessions are required to break down the tattoo ink. The number of treatments depends on the location, size, depth, color and whether the tattoo is professional or homemade. Typically, 5 to 10 sessions are required. The treatments are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to give your body time to eliminate the tiny fragments of ink. Minor crusting or bleeding may persist for a couple of days after each treatment, but the risk of scarring with laser tattoo removal is very low.
