Use the Rice Test to Start Finding Your Target Breast Size
Easy experiment allows you to quickly ‘try on’ different sizes of Breast Implants
If you are thinking about Breast Augmentation and need a place to start, consider the Rice Test. By wearing “rice implants” inside of a sports bra, this simple experiment allows you to begin to get an idea of what you would look like with breast implants of different sizes. The rice test also a good way to become educated about volume measurements in cubic centimeters (cc’s) so you can more easily discuss breast implant sizes if you decide to proceed with a consultation.
The rice test is a simple and low-tech way to sample different sizes of breast implants and learn about how their volumes are measured.
How to make your homemade breast implants
To do the Rice Test, cut a 12-inch length of pantyhose (without the foot portion) and tie a knot in one end. Then just fill the length with the correct amount of rice according to the conversion chart below showing rice amounts (in cups) and simulated breast implant volumes (in cc’s).

When you tie up the open end, make sure that the “rice implant” is loose enough to conform to the shape of the breast when placed inside of a sports bra.
After making your “rice implants” or “rice sizers,” look at yourself in the mirror and try on different tops and blouses. Think about how you might look with breast implants of various sizes and if a new look could have a positive effect on your life.
